Hi, it's great to meet you! I'm Cheryl Wimperis. A former professional ballerina now working as a lifestyle and yoga coach in Oadby, Leicester.
Besides my experience as a professional ballerina, I have also studied anatomy and physiology for many years. My knowledge of the body enables me to safely guide people through yoga with the correct alignment of their bodies.
I teach group yoga classes in Oadby Yoga Centre that are popular and designed to make you feel good on all levels - mentally, emotionally, and physically.
If you are interested in taking one of my Oadby yoga classes, either in person, privately or online, please contact me today!
Alternatively, my website allows you to book a class and attend a group class.
I look forward to meeting you and working with you as your Oadby yoga instructor.
Namaste 🧘🏻

I teach yoga classes at Parklands Leisure Centre, near the lovely Brockshill play area and natural woodland. Parklands leisure centre offers lovely facilities and a large community of yoga lovers who enjoy our weekly practice together in their Oadby yoga studio.
Parklands Leisure Centre, Oadby. Includes a gym, swimming pool, fitness classes, soft play & climbing walls. It's a great place for all the family! My kids love it here.
Parklands spacious fitness studio holds around 50 participants. What I love about my yoga class at Parklands Leisure Centre is that it attracts all ages and abilities. We all leave our practice feeling refreshed, energised and relaxed.
The Oadby Yoga studio has lots of equipment to make your practice comfortable and manageable. If you are new to yoga, there are mats available, blocks, chairs to hold on to, and lots of straps and other accessories to help support your practice and make it enjoyable.
I have taught workshops all over Oadby and Wigston, and have also taught and mentored people remotely online. But what I notice is that all these settings offer something unique to the individual's needs, but the end goal always stays the same, that of personal development and discovery, learning something new about ourselves, and learning how to relax and re-energise simultaneously, which is something unique that yoga offers us.
The Parklands Leisure Centre is located Washbrook Ln, Wigston Rd, Oadby, Leicester, LE2 5QG.

Simply come along on Tuesdays.
Every Thursday evening, Nilesh Bhatha and myself teach yoga to the local community at St Paul's Church in Oadby. This spacious modern church features warm low lighting, allowing you to feel comfortable and relaxed when practising yoga.
St Paul's Church is located in the middle of Oadby, to the north of the busy Leicester A6 in Oadby. Nevertheless, it is located in the midst of a major new housing development. After a long day at work or when travelling from nearby, the main road that divides Oadby makes communication easy and accessible.
We always offer lots of support, and Yoga Teacher Nilesh Bhatha and I alternate each week as the main yoga instructor, so we can provide hands-on assistance if and when you need it. We also provide yoga blocks and yoga mats, so if you are a new student or new to yoga, you don't have to worry about anything. Leave your worries at the door and enter our peaceful sanctuary.
All abilities are welcome. Ideal classes for improving flexibility and posture, building physical and mental strength.
The yoga class will start with a mobilisation/warm up, then move on to asanas (asana practice postures) involving standing poses, sun salutations, balance poses, lateral extensions, seating poses, inversions, and pranayama (breathing exercises - breath work) and a final relaxation.
Price is £9 per session or £30 pre-pay per month.
Come along and enjoy your Oadby yoga practice with guidance and expertise from a lovely community and your two yoga teachers.

All my life I have been working with body and mind as a trainee ballerina at the Royal Ballet School. It took a lot of discipline to develop the skills I needed as a ballerina.
The desire to return to my hometown was not only physical, but also emotional following an international career as a dancer. After travelling all over Europe since I was 18, I returned to my hometown in Leicestershire.
Those years of working as a dancer with my body have given me great insight into energy, anatomy, movement, fitness, mindset, nutrition, and physical wellbeing.
I've always been fascinated by how the mind and body work. The topic of my MA was the mind, so I returned to Wigston to finish my Masters of Arts in choreography.
It's interesting to reflect on our lives and see how they lead to one another. I have developed myself spiritually and personally through these little steps.
With my Master's Degree, I worked in the dance and education sectors at various Leicester education facilities, such as Leicester College and De Montfort University, and founded a dance school.
I discovered yoga while performing as a professional dancer, and after my first lesson, I was hooked! I felt calm, centred, and connected to something much bigger than myself.
As a result, I delved deeper into my yoga practice and developed my teaching skills. This led me to earn my Sun Power Yoga 200-hour teacher certification in 2007. Founded by Anne-Marie Newland, Sun Power Yoga is based in Leicester.
Through the immersive yoga experience, I learned about myself and developed a passion for personal development.
The philosophy of Yoga has taught me much about myself, including how my body and all its systems work, how my energy body works, how to stay healthy naturally and holistically, how to detoxify my body and mind, and how to control my mind instead of allowing it to control me.
These teachings have not only improved my dance and yoga teaching, but also supported me throughout my life.
Besides teaching yoga in classes in Oadby and Leicester, I also offer online classes for students living further away, or prefer to practice at home. There are beginners yoga classes, as well as more advanced yoga poses.
You may also be interested in knowing that I have developed multiple wellness, mental wellbeing, mindfulness and nutritional support programmes, which you can follow along and work with me on your personal journey.
